Story

Our High Commissioner shirt is part of our new collection of Tall-Point collar shirts which celebrate hardworking diplomats in our home of Washington, DC and around the world. The shirts are an interesting mix of classic American and European style. The Commonwealth of Nations (pretty much Great Britain and most of its former colonies) don’t really consider each other to be “foreign.” Their highest ranking diplomats are referred to as High Commissioners instead.

It comes in a fine blue pencil stripe in a 140s poplin. It also features our new Tall-Point collar that is both classic and debonair without being stodgy or colonial.

Fabric

is a particular variety that is grown in only a few other places. It is renowned as some of the best in the world. It has an extra long staple, which means it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric.Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.
